My mom and I both enjoy pampering ourselves with facials. At our most recent one at Aestique in Shadyside, we were introduced to a new line of skincare. I’ve been trying it out for the past month and absolutely love it. It’s a medical line called ZO Skin Health by Dr. Zein Obagi. While it’s pretty expensive, it’s SO worth it. I’ve noticed such a difference in my skin. Below I’ll share with you everything from the products I use to tips and tricks to make them last longer.
Daily: Morning and Night
I start by wetting my face with some warm water. Using a pea sized amount (this is very important !!) of the Exfoliating Cleanser, I begin to work it into the skin in circular motions. I used to think that more product was correlated to better results, but that’s just not true. Using too much of the cleanser makes it sticky and difficult to get off. A little goes a very long way! I rub in circular motions for about two minutes to get the product foamy and increase circulation. Once I’m satisfied, I rinse with warm (not hot) water and pat my face dry.

Following my cleanser, I tone with the Oil Control Pads. Cutting these in half will save you tons of money! Using half a pad, I begin in my T-Zone and work around the perimeter of my face before dabbing my cheeks. This definitely brings out my redness, but it’s worth it when I’m not oily come 2pm!

I bring my skin back to life with the Daily Power Defense. Half a pump covers my entire face in a thin layer of hydration! While it’s technically “anti-aging”, I notice that it makes my face feel so much softer. Regardless, it’s never too early to take care of your fine lines.

Rozatrol has to be my favorite product here! Breakouts aren’t typically my issue. Instead it’s redness from former breakouts or dry skin. This product helps combat red, sensitized skin. With just a pea sized amount, I notice a huge difference. My skin looks so much calmer and supple after using it. I just recently began using it twice a day (rather than just at night) and my skin has never looked more clear. If you buy any of these products, you won’t want to miss this one!
In the home stretch is my C-Bright Vitamin C serum. While I can’t say this has revolutionized my skin, just a pump leaves a silky smooth finish. I think it helps to seal in all the products without my face feeling bogged down.
Twice a week: After cleansing
Exfoliating is incredibly important when taking about the health of your skin. Physical exfoliants help slough away dead skin cells and triggers the growth of healthier cells. I limit myself to using the Dual Action Scrub twice a week so I don’t exacerbate any redness. Definitely try to use this in the shower, as it gets everywhere. The grit is so fine, you’ll find it hiding on your jaw later. I use this right after cleaning. Following a quick rinse, I start right up with the oil control pads.
Once a week: After exfoliating
I never really though masks did anything but look cute. My opinion changed with the Sulfur Masque. I notice my pores looking smaller, and I’m suffering from fewer breakouts. I use this once a week after showering, but sparingly as it sometimes dries me out too much.

It seems like this process is labor intensive, but it takes me under 5 minutes! In the mornings, I add an Oil Control Sunscreen to protect my skin. Many of the products contain alpha hydroxy and other products that will damage your skin if exposed to sun, so this is a critical step. I’ve also been going without makeup quite a bit, and notice my breakouts have slowed. This skincare routine took some time to acclimate to, but I’ve seen such a difference! I’d definitely give ZO Skin Health a try. Let me know if you have any questions!
Stay Classy,
Maya
